6.6.1. Replacement of brake shoes of forward wheels

PREVENTION
To replace brake shoes before slips become thinner than 2 mm.

To perform works in such order:
a) remove front brake shoes:
— uncover naves and a wheel;
— turn out a bolt of 1 (fig. 6.4) from the lower directing finger of a support 2;
— turn a support 2 up and remove brake shoes 3;
— remove the wear indicator.

PREVENTION
It is impossible to press a brake pedal when brake shoes are removed.

b) clear and turn a support:
— clear all surfaces of contact of a support and its holder with brake shoes;
— check an antisplash cuff of the piston. If the antisplash cuff looks worn-out, replace it. However, if the antisplash cuff is damaged, repair a support.
