PREVENTION Replace brake shoes before overlays for them become thinner than 2 mm.

Perform works in such sequence:

1) remove back brake shoes:

— to uncover naves and a wheel, an assembly bracket of 1 (fig. 6.10) and a brake hose his holder;

— turn out a bolt 2 of the top directing finger of a support 3;

— turn a support 3 down and remove brake shoes 4;

NOTE It is impossible to press a brake pedal when brake shoes are removed.

2) clear and check a support and a brake disk, check a beating of a disk and a nave, a condition of guides of a support; works are performed as well as on forward brake mechanisms (see. "Replacement of brake shoes of forward wheels");

3) prepare a support for installation of new blocks (fig. 6.11):

— record a support of rather brake disk;

— press the support piston by means of the special tool;

— completely wrap the piston clockwise and fix it in this situation;

4) establish brake shoes:

— put on the wear indicator an internal brake shoe from the lower party;

— put brake shoes;

— establish a support into place and put a new lock bolt. Moment of an inhaling of 35 N · m;

— fix a brake hose in the holder;

— establish a wheel, slightly tighten nuts, and then tighten them on diagonal the moment of 110 N · m;

5) check and if it is necessary, adjust the parking brake by means of the central adjusting nut in the handle of the parking brake:

— listen a ware tray, the rubber panel, turn out three screws and remove a back part of the console;

— check whether the balance weight at right angle settles down, and if necessary check cables of the parking brake and a support;

— turn the central adjusting nut so that the handle settled down directly opposite to a lock pin on both sides (fig. 6.12);

— check whether freely back wheels when the parking brake is not involved rotate;

— be convinced that the cable of the parking brake constantly is in the tense state;

— put a back part of the console.
