When conducting these checks it is necessary to measure thickness of overlays of lobbies and back brake shoes (fig. 2.75 and 2.76) and to compare it to the admissible standard which for forward and back blocks makes 2 mm.

If thickness of overlays of brake shoes is close to the specified value, it is necessary to replace blocks.

Also it is necessary to be convinced of lack of leaks in a support or its connections.

When replacing brake shoes it is necessary to check thickness of brake disks which should not be less minimum admissible value (for forward disks makes 21,5 mm, for back — 8,4 mm).
