You carry out check of a condition of steering and a forward suspension bracket in the following order:

1) check a condition of the steering mechanism for what:

— with the wheels standing on the earth, turning a steering wheel, check a side play in situation for the rectilinear movement;

— with the hung-out wheels, turning a steering wheel against the stop to the left and to the right, you will check existence of the increased effort on a steering wheel and lack of extraneous noises.

2) check tips of steering drafts for existence of a side play for what:

— sharply rock a wheel, having undertaken it in provisions "3 hours" and "9 hours" (fig. 2.80) (a wheel in situation for the rectilinear movement);

NOTE The most admissible radial side play — 0,5 mm;

3) check an axial side play in a lath and the internal steering hinge for what:

— sharply rock a wheel, having undertaken it in provisions "3 hours" and "9 hours";

NOTE The maximum admissible side play in a lath — 0,5 mm. The maximum side play in the internal steering hinge — 0,5 mm.

4) check fastening of a telescopic rack and lack of a side play (fig. 2.81) for what:

— turn a wheel against the stop;

— sharply rock a wheel, having undertaken it in situation "6 hours", and check suspension bracket lever plugs, a shock-absorber rod, the top fastening of a telescopic rack;

5) check wheel bearings, having undertaken a wheel in situation "6 hours", check a side play;

6) check wheel bearings for existence of extraneous noise, turning a wheel a hand;

7) check technical condition of steering drafts for what:

— check protective rubber covers of steering draft;

— check fixing of nuts against an otvorachivaniye;

— check absence of damage of steering drafts;

— check lack of critical wear (to turn steering draft round its pivot-center);

— check an axial side play (to squeeze the hinge sliding flat-nose pliers).

NOTE The most admissible axial side play — 0,5 mm, the most admissible radial side play — 0,5 mm.

If necessary immediately eliminate the following malfunctions:

— damage of a protective rubber cover;

— damage of steering draft;

— wear of steering hinges;

8) check fastening of the steering mechanism, and also absence of damage of protective rubber covers of the steering mechanism;

9) check a condition of levers of a suspension bracket and their plugs for lack of a side play and mechanical damages;

10) check the stabilizer of cross stability, check its fastening and a condition of rubber plugs at a rack of the stabilizer of cross stability;

11) check a condition of spherical hinges and their protective rubber covers. The damaged protective rubber covers are subject to immediate replacement;

NOTE The most admissible axial side play — 0,5 mm, a radial side play — 0,5 mm

12) check fastening and work of springs and shock-absorbers.
